Easley Strategic Advisors

When the pressure
is real,
execution cannot wait.

ESA partners with executives and public sector leaders navigating high-stakes organizational change — building the communications infrastructure, stakeholder alignment, and crisis strategy that determines whether transformation succeeds or stalls.

Is this the moment
to bring in ESA?

If any of these are true, the answer is yes.

Your team is confused about direction and leadership messaging is inconsistent
A crisis or sensitive issue is escalating and you need a clear communications response now
A major initiative, restructure, or audit is rolling out and it isn't landing
New leadership is in place and the organization doesn't know what to believe yet
You need stakeholder alignment fast and the internal bandwidth isn't there

Why ESA Exists

Why most change efforts
fail — and what to do instead.

01

Leaders assume alignment that doesn't exist

Strategy gets decided at the top and announced as if understanding is automatic. It isn't. By the time confusion surfaces, trust has already eroded and momentum is gone.

02

Communications is treated as an afterthought

The plan is built. The rollout is scheduled. Then someone asks: what do we tell people? At that point, the communications strategy is reactive — and reactive communications in high-stakes environments costs organizations dearly.

03

Internal confusion spreads faster than strategy

In the absence of clear, consistent messaging from leadership, employees fill the gap with speculation. That speculation becomes the narrative — and it is almost always worse than the truth.

ESA exists to close these gaps — before they become crises, and during them when they already have.

The ESA Difference

“We do not produce reports
that sit on shelves.
We build systems your organization can sustain.”

What We Do

Four practice areas.
One standard of work.

Every engagement begins with discovery. We do not prescribe before we understand. What follows is a scoped engagement with defined deliverables and outcomes your organization can measure.

01 — Organizational Transition

Align your organization so change lands — not stalls.

Your people understand what's changing, why it's changing, and what it means for them — before confusion becomes resistance.

When leadership changes, structures shift, or an operational review hits — someone has to communicate it. ESA builds the message framework, sequencing plan, leadership talking points, and feedback loops that make the transition stick.

For: New city managers, executive teams launching restructures, organizations implementing audit findings

02 — Internal Communications

Stop guessing whether your message is landing.

Leadership speaks. Employees listen, understand, and act — because the system that connects them was built to work.

Most organizations communicate. Few have a system. ESA audits your existing infrastructure, identifies where trust is breaking down, and builds the channels, rhythms, and culture that create genuine organizational coherence.

For: Organizations that have grown faster than their comms infrastructure, recovering from a leadership breakdown, or starting from zero

03 — Crisis & Emergency Communications

Be the organization that held it together.

When the crisis hits, your leadership team knows exactly what to say, to whom, in what order — because the plan was already built.

We develop preparedness frameworks, train leadership teams, and provide direct advisory support during active crises. Post-crisis, we help organizations rebuild trust with the audiences that matter most. We have been in the room when everything is on the line.

For: Organizations without a crisis plan, leadership teams in active crisis, executives in high-visibility public environments

04 — Public & Stakeholder Strategy

Own your narrative before someone else does.

Your community, council, press, and funders hear your story — the real one — and trust is built before it's needed.

Public organizations operate in complex stakeholder environments. ESA maps those audiences, identifies what each one believes and needs, and develops the communications approach that builds trust, protects reputation, and sustains relationships over time.

For: Municipal governments, behavioral health authorities, nonprofits, and public agencies under scrutiny

05 — Education Leadership & Development

Develop the leaders inside your district — from the classroom up.

Your principals lead with clarity, your instructional coaches multiply impact across every classroom, and your district builds a leadership pipeline that doesn’t depend on one person.

Districts invest millions in curriculum and technology. The organizations that see the greatest gains invest equally in the humans delivering it. ESA’s education leadership practice brings nationally recognized expertise in teacher development, instructional coaching, and education leadership to district engagements — building the internal capacity that sustains improvement long after the engagement ends. From coaching coaches to curriculum development to leadership cohorts for principals and department heads, we design the development infrastructure your district needs to scale what works.

For: Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Chiefs of Academic Affairs, and district leadership teams seeking to develop instructional leaders, build a coaching culture, or strengthen their leadership pipeline at scale

Ongoing Advisory

A trusted advisor in your corner — long term.

You have someone who knows your organization, answers the phone, and is in the room when it matters.

Some clients engage ESA for a defined project. Others want something different — a long-term advisory relationship with a firm that will tell them the truth. Retainer engagements are structured around the client's needs, not a standard package.

Results

What it looks like in practice.

Every engagement is confidential. These are representative of the work.

Crisis Communications — Public Sector

Mass Casualty Event. Fifteen Agencies. Real Time.

Situation: A high-profile community crisis created fear and uncertainty across employees, stakeholders, and the public simultaneously. Leadership needed to communicate across 15+ agencies with no established protocol and no margin for error.

What ESA did: Coordinated real-time communications across all agencies, developed unified messaging that addressed internal and external audiences simultaneously, and established the information flow that kept leadership aligned under active pressure.

Result

Consistent, credible messaging across all 15+ agencies throughout the crisis. No conflicting public statements. Stakeholder trust maintained. Internal team stability preserved under national media scrutiny.

Legislative Strategy — Behavioral Health Authority

$12 Million. One Legislative Session. No Playbook.

Situation: A public behavioral health authority needed to secure significant state funding through an active legislative session — with no established government affairs infrastructure and a compressed timeline.

What ESA did: Developed the stakeholder map, built the legislative messaging framework, prepared executive leadership for testimony and direct advocacy, and coordinated the communications strategy that moved the bill forward.

Result

$12 million secured through Texas House Bill 1. Organization established credibility as a trusted legislative partner. Infrastructure built that continues to support ongoing government relations work.

Our Firm

Most consulting engagements produce findings.
Fewer produce change. The difference is almost always the human variable.

There is a reason organizations call Deanna Easley when something has to get done.

It is not because she is the loudest person in the room.
It is because she is usually the clearest.

Deanna Easley is the Founder and Principal of Easley Strategic Advisors. She built a communications function that did not previously exist inside a public sector organization, led crisis response across 15 agencies following a mass casualty event, and secured $12 million in state funding through strategic legislative advocacy. She serves on the executive leadership team of that organization and holds board positions at the Plano and McKinney Chambers of Commerce.

Her career spans a Fortune 50 corporation, an international fintech, and a national media organization — a range of environments that informs how ESA advises clients navigating complex organizational change across sectors.

We built ESA to be the firm we would have called.
